Black Rock French Quarter medallions commemorate the moment when the Fourteenth Colony was first imagined in the year 1799. An arc of 13 stars and stripes represents the Thirteen Colonies of the United States of America, with the central star representing the Fourteenth Colony. Around the arc is the motto of the Blind Mistress, the first spacecraft launched from New Orleans.
